Join us on Saturday, October 20th for a Habitat Restoration Work Party!
Pierce is in the Columbia River Gorge, just west of North Bonneville. Pierce is home to many threatened pond turtles currently suffering from what is believed to be a shell fungus. To stem the disease, we are rehabbing turtle habitat (nesting areas and haul out logs in lakes). On Saturday, October 20th, we are having a volunteer work party and would love to get as many hands to work as we can. We’ll be clearing blackberry brambles and making branch piles. This project is in conjunction with the US Fish & Wildlife Service, The Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife, The Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, and the Columbia Gorge Refuge Stewards. Won’t you come join us?
Dress for the weather, bring your friends and family, meet new like-minded folks, and support your public lands.
We’ll also be hosting a volunteer work party on November 17th!
